Ramesh's gardener is right in suggesting for a total relaying of his kitchen garden soil.Sandy soil is poor in water retention. where as loamy soil is roughly composed of the same amount of all the three textures like clay, silt, sand and organic matter.
  • It is loose and rich in humus
  • When you squeeze it it forms a ball that crumbles when poked.
  • It is good at absorbing and storing water, hence ideal for plant growth
