We know that plants get rid of excess water by a process called transpiration and guttation. Waste products are stored in leaves, bark, and fruits. When these dead leaves, bark, and ripe fruits fall off from the trees these waste products in them are finally got rid off. A way to store waste products in fruits is in the form of solid bodies called Raphides. These are needle-shaped crystals of Calcium Oxalate.
