Question

Rashid of earth is 6400 and that of mars if 3200. Mass of earth is 10 times that of mars. Ab object weighs 200N on surface of earth. What will be it's weight on mars

Open in App
Solution

Weight of object on Mars = 200N
Radius of Earth = 6400 km
Radius of Mars = 3200 km
Mass of Earth (Me) = 10 x Mass of Mars (Mm)
⇒Me/Mm = 10
We Know That g α m/R²
⇒ge/gm = (Me/Mm)(Rm/Re)²
⇒ge/gm=10 x (3200/6400)²
⇒ge/gm = 10/4
⇒ gm = (2/5) ge
Weight of object on Earth = M x ge = 200 N
Weight of object of Mars = M x gm
⇒ M[(2/5)ge]
⇒ Mge x (2/5)
= (200 x 2)/5 = 80 N
∴Weight Of Object on Mars = 80N
