Open in App
Solution

The rate of degradation decreases when the fruits are kept in the cold storage. At lower temperatures, there is no activity of the enzymes which will degrade the components in the fruits like sugar, pectin, cellulose, etc. This will prevent the degeneration and increase the shelf life of the fruits.
