Solution

Mass of the electron is calculated from the charge and e/m value.
Mass of electron = ChargeCharge/mass = ee/m = m = 1.602 × 10-191.759 × 1011 = 9.1 × 10-31Mass of one gram atom of hydrogen = 1.008 gMass of one hydrogen atom = 1.0086.023 × 1023 = 1.673 × 10-24When we compare the mass of an electron and mass of hydrogen,Mass of electronMass of one hydrogen atom = 9.1 × 10-311.673 × 10-27 = 11837Thus the mass of an electron is 1/1837 times that of hydrogen atom i.e., mass of an electron is much smaller than mass of 1 hydrogen atom.
