Open in App
Solution

Total number of candies = 80

Candies are distributed in the ratio of 3:5
Total number of equal parts = 3 + 5 = 8

80 candies are divided into 8 equal portions, out of which 3 portions are given to one friend and 5 portions to the other.

To find the value of each equal portion, divide 80 by 8
80 ÷ 8 = 10

Share of first friend = 3 × 10 = 30 candies
Share of second friend = 5 × 10 = 50 cadies
