Solution

The correct option is A 0.8 cm
Due to insertion of glass plate/slab, the image will get shifted by amount s in the direction of the incident ray on the slab.
Normal shift due to refraction from slab,
PP=s=0.3 cm

Since the surrounding medium is air, using formula for normal shift,
t(11μ)=0.3
t(111.6)=0.3
t(0.61.6)=0.3
t=0.8 cm

Why this question?Always remember that inserting a glass plate will always shift the image position, whether it is a mirror or lens.
