Reabsorption of useful substances from the glomerular filtrate occurs in
Proximal convoluted tubule
From the Bowman's capsule, the glomerular filtrate enters the proximal convoluted tubule (PCT). Most of the useful substances such as glucose, amino acids, most of the inorganic ions (Na+, K+, Cl−) and buffer bicarbonates are reabsorbed in PCT. The cells of PCT have numerous microvilli and mitochondria to provide energy for active absorption.
