(a) Honeybees suck from flower NECTAR.

  1. Honeybees collect nectar from flowers and make honey from it.
  2. Nectars are liquids made rich in sugar by the nectaries gland in plants.
  3. Nectars also attract insects which are agents of pollination.

(b) Animals which eat other animals: CARNIVORES.

  1. The animals that feed on other animals are known as carnivores.
  2. Most predators eat herbivores and sometimes other carnivores by killing them.
  3. These animals are important for controlling the population of other species.
  4. Examples are lion, tiger, and leopard.

(c) Animals that eat only plants and plant products: HERBIVORE.

  1. The animals which consume plant and plant-based products are herbivores.
  2. They are prey and not a predator.
  3. Example – Goat and cow.

(d) Animals that eat both plants and animals: OMNIVORES.

  1. The animals whose eating habits match both carnivore and herbivore are known as Omnivores.
  2. Omnivores have both canines for tearing meat and molars for grinding plants.
  3. They have the most diversified eating habits.
  4. Example humans, bear.
