Question

Read the extract given below and answer the question that follows:

My head is full of whispers
which tomorrow will be silent.
Listen. The glass is breaking.
The trees are stumbling forward
into the night. Winds rush to meet them.
The moon is broken like a mirror,
its pieces flash now in the crown
of the tallest oak.
Why are the trees stumbling ?

Solution

The trees are stumbling because they are trying to get back to the forests amid the broken pieces of the broken glass. They are also a little disoriented and unsteady from being indoors for so long.
