The correct option is C Why it had come there
The direct speech given in the dialogue "Poet: "Why have you come here?" must be changed to indirect and written in blank 23.'Why have you come here' will change its tense to past perfect.
While changing a speech from direct to indirect, the person, tense and adverb (or other relevant parts of speech) will also change.
Since the speech is being reported, it will go one tense back.
Hence the present perfect tense 'have you' changes to past perfect 'had it'.
Option C: This is the accurate indirect conversion of speech. 'Have you' changes to 'had it', 'here' changes to 'there' (as the place is not close 'here' anymore) Hence option C is correct.
Option A: 'Has' refers to the present tense whereas it should be in the past.
Also, 'here' has also not been changed.
Option B: 'Here' has not been changed to 'there'.
Option D: Except for the adverb 'there', the speech has not been changed to indirect here. The tense 'has' and pronoun 'you' must be changed.
Hence options A, B and D are incorrect.
