Reason : Light rays produce impulses on rod cells and cone cells present in retina. The photopigments (photosensitive compounds), found in human eye are composed of a protein opsin and retinal, an aldehyde of vitamin A. Light induces the dissociation of retinal from opsin and structure of opsin is changed. This causes the change in membrane permeability. As a result potential differences are generated in the photoreceptor cells. These produces a signal that generates the action potential in ganglion cells through the bipolar cells. This action potential are transmitted by the optic nerve to the visual cortex of the brain.
So, the correct answer is option A.
