Human evolution is the evolutionary process that led to the emergence of Homo sapiens as a distinct species of the hominid family. Significant changes like increase in cranial capacity, attainment of erect posture and opposable thumbs have been observed in the process of human evolution.

Ramapithecus and Dryopithecus are the most primitive ancestors of human beings. Ramapithecus and Dryopithecus lived about 15 million years ago. Dryopithecus was more ape- like whereas Ramapithecus was more man-like. They were hairy and walked on their four limbs.

Neanderthal man lived in near east and central Asia between 1,00,000-40,000 years ago. They had a cranial capacity of about 1400cc.

Prehistoric cave art refers to the various paintings and engravings found in caves developed about 18,000 years ago. Such cave paintings by prehistoric humans can be seen at Bhimbetka rock shelter in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.

Hence, the correct statements are I and III, and the incorrect statement is II.
