Solution

The correct option is A b, d and e
Number of ovules in the ovary
The number of ovules in an ovary varies in angiosperms.
  • Single ovule is seen in one-seeded fruits such as mango, wheat, paddy etc.
  • Multiple ovules are seen in the ovaries of orchids, papaya, watermelon etc.
Hence, statement b is incorrect.

Micropylar end and chalazal end
Integuments surround the nucellus except at the tip. The tip has an opening called the micropyle. Opposite to the micropylar end lies the chalazal end which is located towards the base of the ovule.
Hence, statement d is incorrect.

Perisperm
A mass of cells called the nucellus is enclosed within the integuments. Nucellus is made up of parenchymatous cells and forms the main body of the ovule. It surrounds the embryo sac and provides nourishment to the developing embryo.
The perisperm is a nutritive tissue surrounding the embryo in seeds that develops from the nucellus of the ovule after fertilisation.
Hence, statement e is incorrect.
