Solution

The correct option is B (i) - environmental heterophylly, (ii) - solanine, (iii) - Prunus, (iv) - presence
The correct answer is B.
Heterophylly is one of the methods of plasticity in which plant follow several pathways in response to the external environment. Limnophila heterophylla aquarium plants have finely pinnate leaves or whorled when submersed while aerial leaves are whorled or oppositely arranged. This adaptation is called environmental heterophylly.
Solanine is a glycoalkaloid poison found in species of the nightshade family within the genus Solanum, such as the potato. Greening in a potato is evidence of excessive exposure to light. Solanine, like other cyanide compounds, is produced as a deterrent to insects and other animals that might feed on the plants.
Prunus have cup-shaped thalamus and androperianth arises from the rim of the cup-shaped thalamus.
Underground stems can be differentiated from roots by presence of axillary buds on the nodes.
