About 20- 25% of $$CO_{2}$$ is carried by Hb as carbaminohaemoglobin. $$CO_{2}$$ reacts directly with amine radicals $$NH_{2}$$ of Hb to form an unstable compound called carbaminohaemoglobin which releases $$CO_{2}$$ in the lungs.
