There are many contraceptive devices available for birth control. Some of these are -
  • Barrier methods - These includes devices like condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps, vault caps etc.
  • Chemical methods - These include spermicidal chemicals like creams (Delphine) , jelly (Perceptin, Volpar paste), Foam tablets.
  • Intrauterine devices ( IUDs ) - These devices are made of plastic and metal combination which are inserted into the uterus through the vagina. For example CuT, Multiload 375, LNG 20 etc.
  • Oral pills - There are progestin- birth control pills. Hormonal methods of birth control prevent eggs from being released from the ovaries, thicken cervical mucus to prevent sperm from entering the uterus, and thin the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation. examples are i-Pill, Unwanted 72, Mala D etc.
