Solution
The correct option is A 1, 2, 3 and 4 Noise is an undesirable sound. Exposing humans or animals to high intensity sound or prolonged exposure to relatively lower noise levels can affect their health.
To control noise pollution the following measures can be taken
Reduction of noise in industries can be affected by use of sound absorbent materials or by muffling (reducing) noise.
The neighbourhoods of hospitals and schools should be declared as “horn-free zones” .
Vehicles are required, by law, to be fitted with silencers to reduce the engine noise and have to adhere to the ‘no honking’ rule in these “horn-free zones”.
Regulations for permissible sound-levels of crackers and of loudspeakers, timings after which loudspeakers cannot be played etc. have to be implemented to control noise pollution from the aforementioned sources.
