Reasons for the failure of the Revolt of 1857 are mentioned below-
The revolt of 1857 was mostly unorganized where the rebels were unaware of the fact that what to do after capturing a region; hence they lacked proper program and ideology. On the other hand, the Revolt of 1857 lacked a strong leader with a national perspective. Outdated weapons and little financial assistances were not proper to compete with the modern weapons of the British. Besides, it was also true that the Revolt of 1857 did not spread out to the whole of the country as it was mainly limited to the northeastern states.
