Question

Recombination frequency between gene A and B is 10 % and between B and C is 20 % .Find the frequency between A and B.

Open in App
Solution

If the recombination frequency between A and B is 10% that means that A and B are present on the same chromosome and if the recombination does not take place than the alelles will segregate together therefore the frequency between A and B is 100-10 i.e. 90%
Or in other words the frequency of A and B should be more than the recombination frequency of both A and B & B and C
