Lead (II,IV) oxide, red lead or triplumbic tetroxide, is a bright red or orange crystalline or amorphous solid pigment. Chemically, red lead is Pb3O4, or 2PbO.PbO2. It is used in the manufacture lead glass and rust-proof paints.
In PbO it shows +2 O.S and in PbO2 it shows +4 O.S(If an element shows two oxidation state in one compound then it is called mixed oxide)
