We know that 1 year = 12 months

Therefore,
3 years 4 months
=3×12+4=36+4=40 months

And,
5 years 5 months
=5×12+5=60+5=65months

We have:
3 years 4 months : 5 years 5 months

=3 years 4 months5 years 5 months=40 months65 months=4065

Simplifying the above ratio or fraction into its lowest form by dividing numerator and denominator by 5, we get

4065=40÷565÷5=813=8:13

Therefore, the simplest form of the ratio 3 years 4 months : 5 years 5 months is 8:13
