(refer experiment 10' respiration, class 10 science lab manual) why is it necessary to use wet germinated seeds?? why can't we use the dry ones??

Dear student,

This is due to the reason that, ​when the seeds are dry they are dormant. In the state of dormancy, seeds do not respire actively. But when seeds are kept moist, they absorb water and start germinating and respire actively to produce CO₂.
