Rules :
a. If market share increases for
3 years in a row, the brand is called a 'strengthening' brand.
b. If market share remains above
30% for
3 years out of a total of
5 years, then it is a 'consistent' brand.
c. If market share is failing for
3 years in a row, the brand is called a 'weakening' brand.
d. If market share drops for
2 years in a row and then rises for
2 years in a row, it is a 'relaunched' brand.
e. If market share varies by
3 points or less over the past year for
5 years in a row then it is a 'maverick' brand.
f. If in any year,
80% of, total market share is accounted for three brands, then that year is a 'year of competition'.
g. If any year, just two brands account for at least
60% of total market share, then that year is a 'consolidation year.'
Note : For 'weakening brands', fall for
3 years would mean the date should show a declining trend for
3 years from a base year.
