Solution
Blood has a fluid component which contains 92% water i.e., plasma. So W is plasma.
Another component of blood is the cellular component which contains corpuscles like RBCs, WBCs and platelets.
X are RBCs as they transport oxygen throughout the blood.
Y are WBCs that fight against the foreign pathogens.
Z are platelets that help in wound healing and blood clotting.
First option is wrong as RBCs are enucleated i.e., do not have a nucleus but are biconcave in shape.
Second option is also wrong as X count goes down during anaemia. Anaemia is a condition in which an individual lacks healthy RBCs to carry adequate oxygen. And the Y count increases to fight against the pathogen causing the common cold.
Platelets i.e., Z can change their shape but do not show amoeboid movement rather Y can show amoeboid movements. Hence option C is also wrong.
All the blood corpuscles (X, Y, Z) are suspended in plasma (W) along with enzymes, antibodies, proteins, hormones, etc. Hence the fourth statement is correct.
