The correct option is A Both A and R are true and R explains A

During transcription, one of the two DNA strands of the double helix acts as a template for the synthesis of mRNA. This is known as the template strand or antisense strand, and runs along the 3’-5’ direction. The other DNA strand which runs in the 5’-3’ direction is known as the coding strand or sense strand. This sense strand appears exactly like the newly transcribed mRNA strand. The only difference being here is that 'T' (Thymine) is replaced by 'U' (Uracil) in mRNA.
