$Let the present age of Renu be x . Then Present age of Renu' s mother will be x + 26 After 9 years, Renu' s age will be x + 9 and her mother' s age will be x + 26 + 9 = x + 35 According to question x + 35 = 2 (x + 9) \Rightarrow x + 35 = 2 x + 18 \Rightarrow x = 17 So, Renu' s present age is 17 years . and Renu' s mother' s present age is 17 + 26 = 43 years .$
