The correct option is C after 28 days
One of the various ways in which couples can prevent unwanted pregnancy is the use of chemicals contraceptives. The chemicals could be in the form of hormones or even non hormonal chemicals can be used. The use of these chemicals can be done in a variety of ways - oral pills, injections, subdermal skin implants, transdermal skin patches, vaginal rings, etc.
Transdermal adhesive skin patches are worn on the skin. They are applied externally and function by slowly diffusing the hormones (progestogen-estrogen combination) into the bloodstream through the skin. These are short term contraceptives and have to be replaced after 28 days.
Hormonal preparations, if used in the form of injections, provide efficiency upto 3 months after application. After 3 months, they have to be taken again.
Implants provide contraception for a longer duration of time. Once inserted, the implants remain effective for 2-3 years, after which they have to be removed and replaced.
