Question

Resolve into partial fractions :7+x(1+x)(1+x2)

Open in App
Solution

Let, 7+x(1+x)(1+x2)=A1+x+Bx+C1+x2

7+x(1+x)(1+x2)=A(1+x2)+(Bx+C)(1+x)(1+x)(1+x2)

7+x=A+Ax2+Bx+Bx2+C+Cx

7+x=(A+B)x2+(B+C)x+(A+C)

i.e., A+B=0...........(i)
B+C=1
and A+C=7

AB=6........(ii)

By (i) & (ii) we get, A=3,B=3 and C=4

7+x(1+x)(1+x2)=31+x+3x+41+x2
