In the chapter of water, I didn't understand the masks of the water. The percentage of earth water then fresh water or ice sheets ground water, etc. Can you explain it briefly to me.

the total volume of water in the hydrosphere is 1.4 billion cubic kilometres, about 97.5 % is the ocean water , 2.5 % is available as fresh water and about 1.97 % is stored in ice caps and glaciers, 0.5 % is ground water and the rest 0.36 % is distributed in lakes swamps , rivers and streams..
