Respected sir or mam

A bullet is fired vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 50m per second .it covers a distance h1 during the first second and a distance h2 during the last 3seconds of its upward motion.if g=10m per second square ,how h1 and h2 related to each other

Open in App
Solution

s= ut+ 1/2 at2 , a is negative here
= 50*1 - 1/2 * 10 * 12
= 50 - 5 = h1 = 45m

time of ascend = u/g = 50/10 = 5s

distance travelled in last 3 seconds = total distance - distance travelled in first 2 seconds

=> u2/2g - ( ut-1/2at2)
= 125- (100- 20)
= 125-80= 45

h1:h2:: 45:45=1:1
