Question

Respected Sir,

Please help me in solving my below mentioned doubt:

What must be subtracted from x3 - 6x2 - 15x + 80 so that the resulting polynomial is exactly divisible by x2 + x + 22?

Solution

Dear student,
On dividing x3 − 6x2 − 15x + 80 with (x2 + x − 12) we get the remainder as (4x − 4)
Hence (4x − 4) must be subtracted from (x3 − 6x2 − 15x + 80) so that it is exactly divisible by (x2 + x − 12).
