During respiration, oxidation of glucose takes place. The chemical reaction of oxidation of glucose is:

Glucose reacts with oxygen to produce $C O_{2}$ , $H_{2} O$ and energy.
We know that chemical change is a change in which new products are formed.
Therefore, we can say respiration is an example of chemical change.
