Rex made a window frame using a block of wood with depth of 2 feet, height of 8 feet and width of 6 feet. He made a hole inside it. The depth was the same as the block but the two other dimensions were half that of the block. Calculate the volume of the window frame after the hole has been made.

The correct option is A 72 ft3
To find the volume of the window frame after the hole has been made in it, we have to subtract the volume of the hole from the volume of the block of wood.

Dimensions of the block of wood =8ft×6ft×2ft
Volume of the block of wood =8×6×2=96 cu ft

Since the height and width of the hole are half that of the block,
The dimensions of the hole will be 4ft×3ft×2ft.
Volume of the hole =4×3×2=24 cu ft

Volume of the window frame =9624=72 cu ft
