Solution

The correct option is A True

Rhizobium bacteria found in the root nodules of leguminous plants fix nitrogen. It's a type of soil bacteria that fixes nitrogen from the atmosphere once it's inside the roots of leguminous plants. Nitrogen-fixing cannot be accomplished on its own. As a result, rhizobium requires a plant host. It is an important nitrogen source for agricultural soils, notably those in dry regions, where it fixes free atmospheric nitrogen into nitrites (NO2-) and nitrates (NO3-) and gives it to plants in exchange for glucose.

  • Plants can't fix nitrogen from the air on their own, but they do need it to synthesise amino acids and proteins.
  • Rhizobium grows in the cortical cells and creates nodules, which become pink when the nitrogen fixation process begins.

Hence, the above statement is true,
