Solution

The correct option is B 12990 kg
The fraction of different ingredients used by Ria is as follows,

Fraction of flour used=35 kg

This fraction can be represented as,

Fraction of butter used=16 kg, and this fraction can be represented as,

Fraction of sugar used=13 kg

This fraction can be represented as,

And, Fraction of milk used=29 kg

This fraction can be represented as,

Thus, the weight of cake, i.e., the combined fraction of all the given fractions will be calculated as,

Combined fraction=35+16+13+29

Since the fractions here are unlike fractions, therefore to compute the combined fraction, these fractions have to be converted to like fractions with same denominator.

The LCM of 5,6,3, and 9 is 90, therefore the fractions can be represented as,

35=35×1818=549016=16×1515=159013=13×3030=309029=29×1010=2090

Thus, the weight of cake will be calculated as,

Combined fraction=5490+1590+3090+2090=54+15+30+2090=11990=12990

Hence, 12990 kg is the total weight of the cake.
