The correct option is A First seven pairs
First 7 pairs of ribs are attached anteriorly to the sternum, next 3 attached to a cartilage called costochondral cartilage and the last 2 pairs do not have any anterior attachment and hence called floating ribs.

In this question answer given in TRUE MAN is (D) but I think answer should be (B) because floating ribs are not attached to sternum and also they are false ribs.So,what us the answer now?
