Rickets, scurvy and beriberi are deficiency diseases which appeared mainly due to the non-availability of proper food.
True
Ease of living encouraged people to eat more unhealthy food items and unbalanced diets came into the picture. This lead to nutritional diseases. Rickets is characterised by softening and weakening of bones in children, usually, due to inadequate vitamin D. Scurvy and Beriberi are caused due to deficiency of vitamin C and B respectively. While eating fast food every once in a while isn't likely to make you deficient in vitamins and minerals, regularly eating this type of food might make this an issue. The more often people eat fast food, the higher their calorie consumption and the lower their micronutrient intake is likely to be.
