Rivers carry sediments to the sea. This makes the seas salty. If the rivers carry sediments, why are they not salty ?

The rivers are not salty because it is believed that they just contain the 2% of the sodium chloride and they also pour down immense volume of water into the oceans which reduces their salinity.
