Solution

On Day 1:
Number of ripe mangoes = 1255
Number of unripe mangoes = 142

On Day 2:
The number of ripe mangoes is 150 more than that on Day 1.
∴ Number of ripe mangoes
= 1255 + 150
= 1405

The number of unripe mangoes is 50 more than that on Day 1
∴ Number of unripe mangoes
= 142 + 50
= 192

To determine the total number of mangoes that Robert plucked from the tree on Day 2, we have to find the sum of the number of ripe mangoes and that of unripe mangoes together.

Total number of mangoes
= Number of ripe mangoes + Number of unripe mangoes
= 1405 + 192
= 1597

Hence, Robert plucked 1597 mangoes.
