Rocket can move in air free space but a jet plane cannot.why?

Solution

A rocket carries oxygen with fuel so that fuel can be burnt with the help of oxygen in space which results in release of hot gases which lets rockets move in space. but a jet carries only fuel since it gets oxygen from our Earth's atmosphere therefore it can't work in space.

now I am in a jet plane which is moving in the same constant speed as that of the earth but in opposite direction, in such a way that it apperapfrom space I am in that same position i.e at rest.But will someone from space tell that I am at rest in this aspect or will he say I am in motion by noticing that the earth is rotating but I am not being on earth?(in respect to him)
