Solution

Step 1 : Let's assign signs to given values

Amount deposited by Rohan can be taken as ₹+5320.

So, his withdrawal on Monday is ₹-3895.

On next day, he again deposited , which is taken as ₹+1283.

So, overall balance on Wednesday is the sum of all transactions he made during these days.

i.e.,

(+5320)+(-3895)+1283

Step 2 : let's add the first two values.

(+5320)+(-3895)

Since the given numbers are of like unlike signs, let's subtract the absolute values directly and give the sign of the largest absolute value for the result.

+5320+(-3895)=+1425

Step 3 : Let's add +1283 to the result.

Since the given numbers are of like signs, let's add the absolute values directly and give the common sign for the result.

i.e.,

1425+1283=+2708

Hence, his balance on Wednesday is Rs.2708
