Length of whole cloth piece = 3.5 m
= 350 cm (as 1 m = 100 cm = 3.5 ☓ 100 = 350 cm)

Length of smaller cloth piece = 50 cm

Number of smaller cloth pieces made from the whole cloth piece $=\frac{\mathrm{Length}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{large}\mathrm{cloth}}{\mathrm{Length}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{small}\mathrm{cloth}}$
$=\frac{350}{50}=7\mathrm{cloth}\mathrm{pieces}$
