Solution

The correct option is C Loss of Rs. 355
Let soap C.P. was Rs. 100 each.
Then toothpaste C.P. would be Rs. 60 each.
S.P. of soap =100+15% of 100= Rs. 115 each
S.P. of toothpaste = Rs. 80
By selling 15 soaps and 8 toothpaste, he gain Rs. 385
But due to 5 unsold soap, he lossed =5×100= Rs. 500
4 unsold toothpaste, he lossed =4×60= Rs. 240
His total loss =500+240= Rs. 740
His actual loss =740 385= Rs. 355.
