Solution

Each subpart: 1 Mark each

Investment of Rohit = Rs 9600
Face value = Rs 100
Premium = Rs 20
Market value = Rs 120
Rate of dividend = 8%
(i) No. of shares =9600120
= 80
(ii) Rohit sold shares at rate of Rs 160
Total sale = 80×160
= Rs 12,800
New investment = Rs 12800
Face value = Rs 50
Market value = Rs 40
Rate of dividend = 10%
(iii) New no of shares = 1280040
= 320
(iv) Original income = 8% of 100×80
=8100×100×80
= Rs 640
New income =10% of 50×320
