Given,

Rohit's savings $=Rs.2500$

Expenditure $=$Salary $-$Savings

$$\begin{gathered} =12500-2500 \\ =Rs.10000 \end{gathered}$$

According to the question,

Ratio of his expenditure to his savings $=\frac{Expenditure}{Savings}$

$$\begin{gathered} =\frac{10000}{12500} \\ =\frac{{\displaystyle \stackrel{4}{\cancel{10000}}}}{{\displaystyle \underset{1}{\cancel{2500}}}} \end{gathered}$$

$=\frac{4}{1}$

$\therefore$ Ratio of his expenditure to his savings $=4:1$
