Solution

-the media has traditionally been considered to be the watchdog of the nation, the fourth estate which keeps the government in check and the citizens informed. Present day media is bigger organ than it was before with the digital platform coming into play and people gaining more and more access to information at the shortest notice quite easily. The political class has also taken to platforms like Facebook and Twitter in order to convey their viewpoints and policies to the citizens directly while we see cases of citizen journalists investigating issues in their locality and bringing to light the true power of the media: to disseminate information
-the present day media has also become visual in outreach, leading to cases of sensationalism in the media. News is not read but seen these days. Politicians have to be on their guard because the third eye is always on them and they can be caught inadvertently on camera
-the recent Delhi polls victory shows that the media has had an immense role to play in turning the tide in favour of independent parties by highlighting the flaws in policies of the present government.
-the present day media is vocal and outspoken with public debates taking centre-stage but there have also been allegations that it can easily become biased and a mouthpiece for certain parties
-media has become more and more corporate in culture and practice leading to an efficiency in business ethics and a rigorous approach towards making it a profitable trade. Media organisations have also become public spenders when it comes to funding for political parties with a possible nexus developing between the two.
