STOMATAL OPENING INDUCED BY BLUE LIGHT. Both red and blue lightstimulate stomatal opening. Because chlorophyll also absorbs these wavelengths, sensitivity to red and blue light is consistent with a role of guard cells in opening stomata under conditions conducive for photosynthesis
