Solution

When the truth of the theft of notes was revealed and Mabel came to know that the court has convicted Dancy in this matter, she is extremely shocked and saddened. She thought that this would not have happened if she had gone to Africa three months ago. Till the very end of the play, Mable shows her loyalty towards her husband. She knows all his faults, knows that he married her without telling her of his previous love affair, and comes to know that he was the one who stole the money and has been deceiving her all along. She realises that he might end up in prison but she still remains loyal to him.
