The above scenario clearly explains the condition of pollen allergy. This allergy is the exaggerated response of the immune system wherein in the presence of allergens mast cells begins releasing histamines and cytokines which help to control the ill-effects of the allergens like pollens, dust, animal dander, food items, mites and medicines.

During this process, IgE immunoglobulins are also released thus triggering the hypersensitivity reaction.
